Gun Review – Crickett Youth Rifle Review
Thanks to my friends at the PredatorTalk.com hunting community I was given the idea to actually have my daughter help me do a little shooting gun review on the Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett (Davey Crickett, My First Rifle) 22 Long Rifle. This is a short little guy which Lil’ Ebbs got from Grandpa for her birthday last year in pink (what else is there for little girls?).
It’s small, inexpensive and very accurate in a great system that allows youngsters to learn to shoot in a safe manner with their guardian/teacher present. We love that it’s just the right size and even this adult will admit he likes to shoot it. The Crickett is a single shot bolt action with a firing pin cocking device that acts as the safety too. Leave it disarmed, and it’s as dangerous as your child’s favorite stuffed animal.

GREAT article and video. I guess you really did take our suggestion off of PT for this. Your little one is great and looks to be the same age as my little girl so I’m definitely looking at this crickett vs the ruger 10/22 for kids. Great article again.

Thanks for the kind words, Ben. This was the most fun of any I’ve done yet. Funny, it took so little effort to get the little one interested in shooting and hunting. She saw my interest and we made opportunities for her to be involved and that was pretty much it. Now she’s hooked!

Easily my favorite review here on HoG, gotta love the kids and shooting. She did a fantastic job! Way to go girl ! You have done a good job teaching her to shoot ebbs, keep it up. Now if you would only post the dance video I wanted to see the two of you do(MCHammer, can’t touch this).

Do they have canisters of tear gas in shocking pink as well? I’ve been searching everywhere for a decent weapon for dispersing crowds for my 6 year old.
