White Hat Holsters – Max Tuck IWB Review
A while back (as in immediately following the launch of Haus of Guns) we posted a gun holster review and video of our beloved Crossbreed MiniTuck Holster made just for our Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380 pistol. It was my first glimpse at a holster that would allow the user to carry IWB (inside the waistband) and almost forget (not irresponsibly) that his carry gun was there. Since that first review, we’ve noticed a number of holsters in this style line to crop up and demand attention due to practicality and overall quality and workmanship.
A short while ago, one of our readers commented on that first review that we needed to check out the White Hat Holster company and their MaxTuck line they provide with the same general IWB idea. Now I’m not even going to attempt to drawn lines at who came first, who the “original” is and which is best. I’m not on anyone’s payroll, in fact I essentially pay to do this, so today we want to tell you about a quality product and hopefully introduce you to White Hat for the first time.
The MaxTuck from White Hat is a combination of leather (horsehide or cowhide), Kydex (you NEED to see their options), and metal clips and chicago screws. The leather comes available in multiple finishes including antique cowboy like the one we received or you can go with a more traditional tan, black or vintage brown and jet black or classic brown in the horsehide finish. The Kydex is one of a kind for sure. If cost is an issue, or if your prefer a more “common” look, black kydex is available. But if you’re feeling adventurous, all the while realizing that the kydex portion of this holster is concealed by your garments, CHECK OUT THIS LIST with somewhere in the ballpark of 13 different kydex choices (including pink) which all adjust in tension easily with the help of a blow dryer. We went with the American Flag/2nd Amendment combo as I’ve been feeling a little aggressive about my views lately, and it’s a nice reminder of why I even get the privilege to carry.
The belt clips have 5 different adjustment settings and are literally so sturdy I think I could hang from them with no adverse consequences. The overall feel and fit of the holster is very sturdy and has the feel of a product that will last a very long time, which is good considering that just by adding a different kydex sheath, the user will be able to use it for any gun he/she so desires. Thanks to that welcomed feature, you are able to carry multiple firearms for different occasions AND save some serious coin by basically getting a $60 holster for every new kydex sheath you add.
I’ll close by saying the video is far more in depth than written word, but I would be remiss if I didn’t add that Tony and the White Hat Holster crew are an absolutely first rate operation. Great product and great guys all the way. Easy to deal with and straight shooters.

Nice review. Never heard of this company but I’m going to check them out.
Even better is how quality Tony Farah (owner/operator) is to work with. He’s one of those “real deal” guys. Even though he’s from Texas.
