Magpul – the makers of cool stuff.
Catchy slogan, huh? I thought it up myself. Actually if you had to come up with a simple definition for what Magpul does, this is what they do over and over. Heading to SHOT Show 2012 I knew they would at least have a new buttstock offered for Remington 870 pattern rifles, but I didn’t realize they’d be offering the forend for the pump and quick detach sling points too. What’s the end result? Well, Magpul has found a way to make your stock 870 way more functional, comfortable, and ergonomically friendly and not to mention multiply the quality of looks by ten fold.
One of the most notable features of the Magpul MOE 870 aside from the adjustable length of pull is the fact that it is equipped to take ALL previous existing MOE gear intended to work on the AR MOE platform will work flawlessly with the new MOE 870 setup. Take a look at the pics and decide for yourself, at MSRPs of $110 for the buttstock and $30 for the forend, you can soup up your standard 870 for just a shade under $150.
While I didn’t get to talk with anyone from Magpul on camera (they were pretty popular while we were there), I did get to catch up with Drew Jensen from the Boulder campus and he was kind enough to give a face to face rundown on the new 870 MOE product. All in all, it looks like Magpul is doing just find without Mr. Costa’s face plastered everywhere.
