With all the fuss I made about Magpul’s new Remington 870 Stock set at SHOT Show 2012 you wouldn’t think they had anything else at their booth worth seeing. Truth is, the Magpul booth was full of goodies to make the most dedicated mall ninjas drool with delight.
Another new stock option from the guys at MAGPUL was a brand new MOE rifle stock for AR-15/M16 platform rifles. For guys who traditionalist who demands a stationary stock on their battle rifle, this one with new options including a 1.25″ Sling loop, available ambidextrous Quick Detach mounts, anti-slip rubber butt pad and an easy to access (well easier than the standard A2 stock storage compartments) storage compartment. The top or “comb” of the stock is flared on each side for a comfortable cheek weld and it’s designed to mount to any AR-15 with a standard length buffer tube.
It’s nothing glamorous, but at just $70 retail, it’s got bargain 3-Gun rifle setup written all over it. The guys at MAGPUL told me that it’s got a Spring 2012 release date, but the MOE rifle stock’s spot on the Magpul website still doesn’t have a “buy” button on it. My gut tells me it should be any day now. Or maybe that’s not my gut. It could be my intestines in a twist because I need one of those 870 sets so bad too!
