Range Report: Remington Model 34

With open sights that definitely need some attention, I was tickled with the results of firing this old rifle for the first time in years.
I shouldn’t be surprised, but the picture above shows the 12 shot group I laid down with the old Remington Model 34 I just did a write up on. It’s the first time I’ve fired it in 3 years and the first time it’s been shot since the repair we did a couple months ago. Everything worked flawlessly, the trigger was as smooth as it has ever been and the safety worked easier than ever.
The rounds we used were Remington Subsonic .22 Long Rifle as I enjoy quiet shooting at the range. With the longer barrel the Subsonics are a pleasure to shoot even with no ear protection. Too bad this old rifle isn’t threaded for a can!
