*This is not a political blog. I’m not gonna take it in that direction nor do I care to. I do however feel that the actions of Google should not be ignored and in an effort to inform my readers and other feel the need to toss my thoughts into the mixing pot.
Well it’s the real deal. Heard on Monday that Google would be banning firearms related search results from their SHOPPING page and this morning I went to have a look and it turns out it’s already in effect. Some folks still haven’t experienced the changes yet as their local servers are still updating with the new settings, but from what I understand it should be in completely in place by the end of this week.
The political implications of this are obnoxious and far reaching. But in the end it’s just another obvious step in the direction of ignorance from those who operate away from the realm of common sense. If guns are bad, then so is the spoon shoveling Haagen Dazs into my mouth making me fat, the pen that causes me to misspell words and vehicles on the road that apparently drive themselves while texting and kill people with a startlingly exponential number each year.
If anything I thing Top Shot Season 4 winner Chris Cheng (former GOOGLE employee) should be to blame for this. He probably spent his lunch hours searching for guns to buy and drew attention to it! Just kidding Chris, you’re an outstanding dude and a great shooter!
For now general web searching and finding shopping results on the web might come down to choosing the lesser of two evils with Yahoo and Bing. Feel free to keep kidding yourself and buying into their bleeding heart human nonsense, but I’ll be spending the week making the switch away from their agenda that does NOT support what Haus of Guns stands for and at the very least our constitutional 2nd Amendment.
