Warning: Cliche Statement Approaching

Really hard to believe 2 years has gone by since the day I posted my first review to what has become a passion turned to an obsession in HausofGuns.com. The site has grown in leaps and bounds, gone through a few changes… even with some different content. But the biggest change has to be the safety of shooters and the political climate in our country.

Is it still as much fun as day 1? Absolutely! But different in a lot of ways too.

The responsibility of having a platform has become a greater burden. No longer do I feel it’s acceptable to stand by “GUN REVIEWS ONLY” as the mantra of my site. I received some encouragement from Brandon at Monderno.com while having lunch the last day of SHOT Show 2013. He bolstered my emotions by resounding the thoughts of feeling a responsibility to not only use a gun site such as this to celebrate gun rights, but to protect them as well. Hence a lot of my political narrative of late.

But I’ll keep plugging away with reviews too. Including some more gear/outdoor related product reviews as the audience expands. After all, most gun junkies are gear junkies too, right??? So watch for more gun reviews, both long and short, centerfire and rimfire, blade reviews, even tomahawks, home defense appliances all the way down to new seat covers for your truck.

This past year especially I’ve gained some tremendous relationships born through online contacts because of Haus of Guns including many new friends on the product side of the industry. Patriots who aren’t just driving ahead to make a buck, but exercising liberty to its fullest capacity to protect the country who is still and should continue to be the greatest in the world.

I guess in truth at the root of things Haus of Guns isn’t about guns at all. It’s about freedom. About having a voice, and about doing something that pushes you to be better than who you were yesterday. Haus of Guns has pushed me to demand more of myself instead of expecting others to do the work in my place. One of the biggest surprises is how much I’ve been strengthened in my own mind, viewpoints, confidence, maturing as a person and patriot as the challenge of growth and discomfort to see change happen has taken hold on me.

Force yourself to be uncomfortable. Push yourself to do work and resist laziness or the status quo. Listen to the ideas and opinions of others. But most of all, get out of your seat, let your voice be heard, and BE AN AMERICAN. Let’s not be satisfied any longer letting those who are willing take leadership in place of those who are BEST for the job.
